Drafts and Final Draft of Magazine Cover

Below is the first draft of my magazine cover. As you can see there is quite a lot of white space behind the main image and I firstly wanted to improve this. The headline and masthead make the cover look a bit like a poster and not music-related enough. I like the colour scheme which I have created, but I think I could add more features onto the cover and make the headline stand out more.

Below is the final draft of my magazine cover. As you can see I changed the headline a lot because I didn't think it looked like a magazine enough, it looked more like a poster. I kept the colour scheme running through on the kickers and the masthead, but by changing the colour of the headline, it drew more attention to it by making it stand out against the lighter background. The tag line which I created is easily seen from a distance and I incorporated another colour into the scheme which went with the mustard colour which I'd already created. Overall I am really pleased with the whole effect of the cover. I think it suits my audience really well and the colour scheme makes it iconic to the type of music I am including in my magazine.
