Below are the three pages of my research for my indie music magazine research. I have mainly found images relating to the indie music genre such as bands and solo artists in the same genre. I also did some background research idea on a well-known indie rock band 'Mumford and Sons' to get an idea of the types of things I could include when I create a 'band' for my magazine.

Professional Photo Shoot Planning
Below is the page of Professional Photo Planning which I created so I could understand what types of photos I planned to photograph for my music magazine. The four main types of photos which I planned to obtain are the cover photo, photos to go on the cover (graphical features), a contents page image and a double page spread image. Below you can see what techniques I hoped to use by taking these photos, and how I aimed to achieve this.

Professional Music Photography Analysis
Below is a PowerPoint which I have created as part of my music magazine research. It shows some of the images from music photography that I like and why. I hoped that this research would help me create a specific genre which I would base my magazine on. On the Powerpoint, I have also recorded where the photo I chose could be placed - such as a double page spread or the contents page.

Music Magazine Layout Ideas
Below is a PowerPoint of the two design ideas which I had for the basic layout of the magazine. I tried to include the main features of a music magazine, such as the main headlines, anchorage, a plug, a flash and graphic features. Both design ideas include various iconic features like a masthead and a main image, but they differ because I have positioned the components differently to try and see what looks better.

College Magazine Evaluation
Below is a Prezi PowerPoint of the evaluation of my college magazine. I have outlined the improvements which I think could be made, and I have also listed some of the good points. I asked people to analyze my cover and contents page and they have suggested improvements also. I also included why I created what I did, and how this was affected by the audience research which I carried out - such as the questionnaire and internet research.

Analysing Magazine Covers
Below is a PowerPoint of some Vogue magazine covers. I have labelled the main features of the covers such as the kickers and cover lines and then found similarities between three Vogue covers using the 'rule of thirds' grid system to look at the postioning of certain features on the covers.
